Sony (SNE) CEO Kazuo Kirai told the company's shareholders meeting that it will take its time in considering Daniel Loeb's proposal to partially spin off its successful entertainment division and use the funds to boost its struggling hardware operations. "The entertainment business plays an important role in Sony’s future growth" and so shouldn't be let go, Hirai said. "This proposal strikes at the heart of what kind of company Sony ultimately will become in the future."

What will it take for an American to relax in the knowledge that we all understand and accept their hegemonic leadership in the international regime. America's assumption of responsibility for stabilization after the war affirms the continuing need for hegemony in order to preserve economic order. I think the problem has been the lack of America's disciplined use of power.
Today there seems to be significant international cooperation, yes it is being imposed under the auspices of the IMF, which continues to perform its assigned regulatory, financial, and consultative functions; the American regime's underlying principles and norms continue to exercise influence over the behavior of all national governments and most importantly its allies.
There is durability in the social order at the international level - seemingly at variance with the predictions of hegemonic stability theory – I suggest that the Bretton Woods system's germinal implications will still apply tomorrow. So please let us give Kaz the benefit of doubt and welcome him home, the USofW.
