Kinder Morgan (KMI -0.7%) is preparing to start talks as soon as next week on selling off parts of El Paso's (EP) oil and gas exploration and production unit in case the pipeline operator can’t find a buyer for the whole division, Bloomberg reports. Selling off the business piecemeal may complicate KMI's effort to raise cash quickly to help finance its $21B takeover of EP.
