Pres. Obama will propose merging the Commerce Department and five smaller agencies that focus on trade and commerce into one new department, according to government officials, in an effort to make it easier for businesses that often get lost in a maze of bureaucracy.

Don't shuffle the agencies-----eliminate them. Start with the Dept of Education.

All he (Obama) needs to do is compare his job record to W. Bush.

That's a fantastic campaign strategy, attempt to prove that you are a better leader than a man who isn't running for president. The only positive thing that's happened in the last 3 years was bin Laden's death. Obama's the leader of a country that has a lot of issues, that aren't improving fast enough for the population to re-elect. Doesn't matter if its his fault or not, with U-6 above 15%, no incumbent could get re-elected.

Debt downgrade, bin Laden's death, almost a double dip recession, almost government shutdown, a financial reform bill that is far behind schedule, a healthcare bill that has a very good possibility of being declared unconstitutional this year, a capital that can't agree to anything, hostility towards the energy industry, one of the few bright spots in the US.......

    Its a very impressive record!

Maher: I'm no Obama supporter, but I'll take the other side of that bet. US $1k if he loses?

He needs Bain Capital to do the merger..and get rid of half the employees...but unfortunatly..it is a government agency...so even after the merger..it will add jobs and cost more...so efficiency is not a part of the equation

It's a start in that direction, however.

Don't trust anything Obama does. There is always some ulterior motive that benefits him and not us or the country .
