France-based Lafarge (LFGEF.PK), the world's biggest provider of cement, is reportedly close to selling its North American gypsum operations to P-E firm Lone Star in a deal worth about $700M. Other funds were also interested in the unit, which produces plasterboard and generates EBITDA of around $75M.
