Nvidia (NVDA -0.5%) pushes back the launch of its Shield Android handheld console to July, citing "a mechanical issue that we’re not happy with." The announcement comes a week after Nvidia cut Shield's price by $50 to $299 in response to feedback, and a couple days after crowdfunded startup Ouya began selling a $100 Android console running on Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor. Though meant for living rooms, Ouya could give a lift to Nvidia's efforts to stoke demand for graphics-intensive, controller-based Android games.
