Longtime solar bear Axiom Capital takes another swipe at the sector - downgrading a host of solar names on heightened concerns (I, II, III) over the impact of German's cutback. Feeling the pain: YGE, TSL, FSLR, STP, and PWER - all taken down to Sell.

    Gordon Johnson, the Axiom Capital Management Inc. analyst who predicted “Armageddon” for the solar industry 14 months ago, said the crash that wiped $27 billion off the value of the shares last year may be over. 8 DAYS AGO! What an idiot!

    Another set of downgrades a day late. Luckily I saw the crash in the solars and dumped PWER before it sank too.

    He didn't. His company is a customer and bought a power plant from FSLR. More relevant is that Einhorn closed his short on FSLR in 4Q11. FSLR is certainly one of the few long-term winners in the solar space. The question remains open what that means for its company value...
