Digitimes' sources claim Amazon (AMZN -1.9%) is expected to slash its Kindle Fire orders to contract manufacturers by 50% in seasonally weak Q1, to 3M units. Kindle Fire shipment estimates have been steadily moving higher, but there is a chance that Amazon built up excess Q4 inventory. A sharp drop in Fire orders would be a modest negative for chip supplier Texas Instruments (TXN)
