Market recap: Stocks fell on the last trading day of the quarter amid late selling, a somber end to what was otherwise the best first half for equities since 1999. Fed officials continued the now incessant taper talk with John Williams saying it is still too early to reduce asset purchases and Jeremy Stein flagging September as the proverbial "beginning of the end." Shares of BlackBerry slumped 27% after a disappointing quarter, gold settled higher but still posted its worst quarter on record, and the Chicago PMI disappointed even as consumer sentiment improved.
