Production facilities at the giant Kashagan oil field in Kazakhstan have begun to start up, the field's operator says. It is unclear exactly when or in what volume the oil actually will flow, though Eni (E) has estimated 75K bbl/day in its first month. Just as production facilities start up, so does deal activity; CNPC's (PTR) entry ensures that a healthy share of Kashagan’s oil flows will be headed to China.
