ConocoPhillips (COP) and CNOOC (CEO) agree to pay 1B Chinese yuan, or ~$159M, to settle compensation claims resulting from oil spills in China's Bohai Bay. The leaks, although tiny compared with BP's 2010 Gulf of Mexico disaster, had provoked harsh criticism from Chinese authorities. (also: Q4 earnings)
