Chevron (CVX) announces plans to invest millions of dollars to expand its Houston facilities, building a new 50-story downtown office tower and creating ~1,750 new jobs in addition to CVX's ~9,000 employees and contractors already working in the city. The company will enjoy a $12M assist in the project, courtesy of the state of Texas.

    I'd rather pay a high sales tax rate than any kind of income tax. I can easily control spending, if needed, but when it comes to income, I want to always make the maximum amount possible and pay the least amount of that total to the government (so they can squander it).
