The Boston Consulting Group estimates the number of Internet users worldwide will reach 3B in 2016, up from 1.9B in 2010. China's Internet user base, which recently passed 500M, is expected to grow to 800M. It's also forecast that the total size of the "Internet economy" will reach $4.2T in 2016, up 83% from 2010's $2.3T. Ericsson, meanwhile, expects 5B mobile data users to exist in 2016, up from a current 900M.
