Compass Diversified (CODI) subsidiary Fox Factory Holding files for an IPO (S-1). Fox is a manufacturer of high-performance suspension products used on mountain bikes, side-by-side vehicles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles with sales of $236M last year and income of $14.2M. The number of shares or price range have yet to be determined.

    Well, the dividend rate of CODI is not that great....but the spin off of shares should be interesting. I am gonna hold for a bit longer!

    "The dividend rate of CODI is not that great." Seriously? It's paying a distribution around 8.2%, which is an outstanding yield. I've owned my position since 2009 and my yield on cost is around 16%.

     

    I do agree that the spin-off will be interesting. Not sure how they'll use the proceeds. Any thoughts? Increase the quarterly distribution? Issue a special distribution?

    Well, I hope losing Fox does not let the air out of CODI. I am sure they must have seen this coming but as usual nobody said anything to anyone. Perhaps they even worked this out with Fox and have a good place to put the gain to work!
