In an interim production update, Chevron (NYSE:CVX) says its average U.S. oil equivalent production fell to 659K bbl/day in April and May from an average 664K for all of Q1, mainly due to shutdowns and maintenance work in Kazakhstan, Australia and Nigeria. Worldwide, CVX produced 2.57M bbl/day in the first two months of the quarter vs. 2.65M in all of Q1.
