More on Microsoft's (MSFT) reorg: Office chief Kurt DelBene is retiring, and advisor Craig Mundie is leaving the senior leadership team. Microsoft will be split along functional lines, such as engineering, sales, finance,and HR, that cross product boundaries. CTO Eric Rudder will run an Advanced Strategy & Research unit, Windows exec Tami Reller will head marketing, and COO Kevin Turner will continue to handle worldwide sales (but not marketing). Ballmer: "We will see our product line holistically, not as a set of islands."
