Toyota (TM) was issued more patents by the USPTO than any other automaker last year, beating out General Motors (GM) and Honda by a decent margin. The patent scene is taking on increased importance in the automobile industry with companies vying to develop the killer communications systems. So far, analysts think GM, BMW (BAMXY.PK), and Tesla Motors (TSLA) have a leg up on their rivals.

Toyota the King of recalls is trying hard to become an innovator which they've never been. GM and Ford in time will bury Toyota. The worst car I've had in my life was a Toyota, (and I've had many) and from then on, I never understood what consumers saw in them.

For 30 years TM built a reputation for reliability. In the '80s you could park a Ford or GM in the driveway and literally watch it fall apart. Since TM decided to go for world domination, their focus and commitment to quality has dropped off while Ford's has increased.

I am long F and TM. Both are on a roll and are heading higher. In TM's case, everyday the Yen devalues TM goes up. $/Yen currently at 100. Its going to 115-125 over 6-9 mo.

See you guys at the bank!

6-9 Mos? tsla closed @ $125.61 today, I think in 6-9 months there will be some up days, and some down days, based on this companies past success, I believe it will be at least $160.00 per share soon, and I could be low in that estimate, but whatever the price turns out to be, it will be worth every penny.

If you believe in Tesla as I do, that this company will change the world for the better one day, you have to ask yourself what is a company like that worth?

GM has now the highest quality ratings. Higher than Toyota and Honda. Ford is at the bottom of the list. You give too much credence to Ford. Ford is doing well because of GM's government label. I've owned Fords and now own GM's new vehicles and they are the best.

45.14mpg in 145,000 miles for one in my Prius, under $10,000 fuel costs for another. BUT when I get my Tesla model S or Gen 3 fuel costs will drop by at least 2/3 since I will us PV to make most of my own

Toyota has killed the electric car more times than any other company. People know about GM and CHEVRON but they know far less about TOYOTA's history and recent policy agenda against EVs.
If CHEVRON is Dick Cheney TOYOTA is Bill Clinton. A vulgar gangster versus a hypnotic vampire. At least you can see the gangster's agenda and true face.
