The German government considered selling its 17% stake in Commerzbank (CRZBY.PK) — which the country bailed out during the crisis — to UBS, according to the German magazine Focus, which says finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble spoke with the bank's chairman and former Bundesbank head Axel Weber about the deal. The German finance ministry neither confirmed nor denied the report.
