Dell (DELL -1.4%) is thinking of delaying its July 18 shareholder vote on Michael Dell/Silver Lake's LBO offer, Bloomberg reports. A decision is said to be likely by Thursday morning if enough votes against the deal have been tallied to thwart it. The report comes amidst strong opposition to the deal from institutional investors, including perhaps now from BlackRock.

The vote should be delayed for ever. This will allow M. Dell to carry on with his resurrection plans and retain control of the company. Dell will sink or swim whether it's a private or public company. Claiming that Dell has more options as a private company to execute it's initiatives is just a smoke screen designed to obfuscate shareholders. Both Dell and Ichan are trying to steal the business.

These folks are going nuts. I've received the proxy vote request on the same 3 proposals 4 times. What a waste of paper, time and money. Can't they do it online? It is coming down to the wire. Sounds like it is going to be a close call.
