Hyatt (H -0.4%) plans to invest $325M in Playa Hotels & Resorts ($100M for a ~20% stake and $225M for convertible preferred shares) as part of a push into the all-inclusive resort segment which the company's global head of real estate and capital strategy says "has grown rapidly over the past 20 years." Playa will operate 13 resorts, 6 of which will be the subject of a franchise agreement with H and will operate under Hyatt brands. (PR)
