Google (GOOG -1.6%) roundup: 1) The anticipated Moto X will be unveiled at an Aug. 1 NYC event, an invite effectively states. The invite comes a day after Google disclosed Motorola's workforce was cut by 50%+ in Q2. 2) Variety's talks with YouTube's early subscription channel partners suggest demand is muted. A National Geographic exec: "We had hoped to set the world on fire. We are not setting the world on fire right now." 3) Henry Blodget argues investors should take Google's ad price declines in stride: he points out they've been accompanied by rising paid click growth, and believes the declines have less to do with mobile than with a shift in search volume towards emerging markets (where ad prices are lower).
