Emmy nominations or not, House of Cards made up less than 1% of the TV show viewing done by Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) subs during an April week, per a study from research firm GfK. Breaking Bad and Mad Men each made up 3% of viewing, and Heroes and Family Guy 2% apiece. Moreover, 45 different shows claimed a ~1% share. GfK qualifies its findings by pointing out House of Cards viewing may have been much higher in February, when the show launched to considerable buzz. Meanwhile, a Cowen survey of Netflix subs found 20% claiming to have cut the cord; an outsized % of them were in the lucrative age 30-44 demographic.
