Shares in Japan (DXJ) rise 0.5% after the bloc led by the Liberal Democratic Party of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wins a majority in Japan's upper house, giving the LDP control of both chambers of parliament. "The removal of political headwinds bolsters the government’s ability to press forward with all 'three arrows' of its growth strategy," says global strategist John Vail. Elsewhere in Asia, Hong Kong flat, China +0.6%, India +0.45%.
