Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has ordered display prototypes for a ~13" iPad and 4"+ iPhones, the WSJ reports. Reuters reported in June Apple is thinking of launching 4.7" and 5.7" iPhones, and South Korea's ETNews reported in May Apple is looking to launch a 12.9" iPad in early 2014. As the WSJ cautions, Apple often tests hardware prototypes that are never commercialized. Tim Cook has hinted a bigger iPhone, increasingly seen as a necessity as demand for ~5" and larger Android devices takes off, will arrive if/when Apple creates one that meets its standards.
