The final tally for the first six months of the year shows that Toyota (TM) edged out General Motors (GM) 4.91M vehicles to 4.85M vehicles to retain its distinction (for the moment) as the top selling automaker in the world. What to watch: Volkswagen (VLKAY.PK) was within breathing distance of the pair with 4.7M vehicles sold in H1 and has more traction in China than Toyota.

Sure, GM made lots of cars. THAT'S never been a challenge. Selling what it produces at a profit, let alone an enviable ROI is another matter - and Toyota has FAR more than managed to just eke by.

Life will become even more challenging for the RenCen crowd once its current sweetheart labor deal drives up its cost basis to parity with its more profitable, if not quite as voluminous, self-sustained competitors.

GM was able to carry forward loses from their bankruptcy to get tax credits against current and future profits. GM screwed the bondholders, screwed shareholders and protected the Unions. The whole thing is rotten. GM made some good cars, but that corporation is pure evil.

It wasn't GM that set up the deal, it was the government. Now you are talking pure evil...

Yes. Government is the devil - that's true. For example, the government protects the heroine growers in Afghanistan, helps the heroin get to the border and to the U.S., then arrests drug addicts for using the heroin. How is that acceptable to everyone in the U.S.

Dont believe me that the U.S. military, at direction of the U.S. government, protects the heroin fields. Watch this youtube video where Fox news interviews the U.S. Military member who admits to what they are doing.

Remember this the next time a police officer in the U.S. arrests someone for drug posession.
