KKR reportely set to bid for Hong Kong supermarket chain

KKR is prepping a bid for Li Ka-Shing's ParknShop supermarket chain, reports Bloomberg, noting the P-E firm is lining up financing, but could still end up opting out of an offer.

Li's Hutchison Whampoa is reportedly asking $3B-$4B for the chain which would make the deal KKR's largest-ever in Asia.

"This is ideal for P-E because it's an asset that can generate very steady cash flows," says an analyst.
