Google unveils mobile-friendly ad format

Google's (GOOG +0.1%) AdSense display ad network division is launching a "responsive" ad unit that automatically adapts to different screen sizes.

Google's goal is to enable ads that render better on smartphones/tablets, and in doing so improve mobile conversion rates and ad prices.

The new format complements the launch of Enhanced Campaigns (integrated PC/tablet campaigns, with the ability to optimize by device/time/location) for Google's AdWords search ad business.

It arrives after a quarter in which Google's ad network revenue only rose 7% Y/Y, something the company attributed to stricter ad policies.

This is pretty important since more people usea tablets and smarphones nowadays and the use of integrated ads will increase google's revenue and therefore stock price, but will it be enough to bring it to the fabled $1000?
