Hydrogenics plummets after earnings miss

Shares of Hydrogenics (HYGS -17.9%) slide hard after Q2 earnings and revenue miss expectations by a wide margin.

The stock has had an extraordinary run since SA Pro contributor Joe Springer said the shares could triple in an article published in May.

"Some lumpiness remains from quarter to quarter due to order timing," CEO Daryl Wilson says, adding that H2 bookings and revenue should be stronger.

I bought some more @ $12.50, sell-off is fine with me, as long as the long term stories are in place lumpy quarters are ok and kind of to be expected, management has implied that they expect 2013 to be a profitable year in total, looking forward to conference call, I expect everything is progressing fine..

Hi Joe. If you're able to finish up the IMUC article this weekend, how long does it typically take to publish? And if you don't mind me asking, how much content do you have so far, i.e. length? It's great to have a reputable publisher with interest in IMUC. It's finally starting to get the attention it deserves.

Hey Pete, if I submit it this weekend the articles are usually published within 24 hours, there may be another 24 hours of alpha rich embargo, so Mon or Tue public..my word docs of links and quotes add up to circa 70 pages but that is getting whittled down considerably, looking like a third of that..

I thought the conference call was very good... upbeat... 3Q & 4Q likely better... I'm not worried. They'll get there.

Thank you all for the posts...i agree...lumpy quarters for the foreseeable future...the long-term trends are in place and we all want the story to progress more quickly and evenly...just keep your eyes on the p/s and market cap and buy accordingly. 100-115 market cap seems a reasonable valuation at this time.

Fuel Cells and H2 are the power systems that will eventually supplant today's central power plants and ICEs. It takes time for people to become accustomed to a radical change. HYGS is on the cusp and will eventually be one of the leading companies in this field.
    Enjoy!
