More on Con Edison earnings

Consolidated Edison (ED) Q2 beats on a per share basis but comes up short on revenue.

Net earnings slid 20% as the utility company posted weaker revenue from its electric business and higher operating expenses.

Revenue from the electric business - its largest top-line contributor - fell 3.4% Y/Y.

Gas and steam revenues rose 22% and 42%, respectively.

Nonutility revenue grew by 6%.

Operating expenses rose 5.9%.

Net interest expense declined 1.3% over the prior year period.

    worst utility in history. the day the got their grubby little hands on new york state electric and gas was a black day for all the people of New York. what a dud...worthless management, lazy workers who spend all their time on comp.
