Lockheed Martin develops equipment package for next-gen choppers

  • Lockheed Martin (LMT) is developing a "universal, highly adaptable and affordable mission equipment package" for the U.S. Army's next-generation helicopters.
  • In plain English, the package will consist of cockpit equipment, electronics and weapons that will be able to be used on any chopper designed for the new program.
  • The package is designed to save money and make upgrades easier. To keep costs and risk low, Lockheed hopes to leverage the billions of dollars invested in the F-35 program and other weapons systems (PR)
