Consumers getting tired of light beer mainstays

Beer drinkers are getting more tired of the taste of light beers including well-known brands such as Bud Light (BUD) and Coors Light (SBMRY.PK, TAP), according to the results of a new survey by Consumer Edge.

It's more bad news for an industry that has struggled making headway with volume gains as choices proliferate.

Among alcohol drinkers, beer is the top choice by a single percentage over wine, whereas that gap was a healthy 20 points in 1992.
