Uranium shares higher as Abe takes firmer stance on Fukushima

USEC (USU +12.7%), Uranium Resources (URRE +7.2%) and some other uranium peers (URA) are moving amid news that the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear facility is still leaking radioactive groundwater into the Pacific Ocean.

StreetInsider.com says positive sentiment may stem from comments by Japan PM Abe, who says the leakage is an urgent problem that must be addressed by a government strategy and not left solely to Tepco (TKECY.PK).

Fukushima is leaking ~300 tons/day of radioactive water into the ocean, Japan's economy ministry says.

Okay, I own some uranium-miners and am glad to see them rise on whatever positive news that comes along, but this catalyst doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I agree. This seems backwards. The more issues arising from Japan would be a negative to any future for more nuke plants to be put into place. USU has been acting very strange for a month now.

All the libtards in Bay area who loves nukes over coal eating radioactive fish since last 2 years. In SF, the chances on having new born with hormonal defect is 1 out of 4 due to Japan leak. None talks about it. Shame.

When it seems backwards like this it usually signals a bottom...read my article on uranium which predicted this rise...
