- GSK (GSK) has launched a $50M VC fund that will invest in the nascent field of "bioelectronics" or "electroceuticals" in which implants will use the electrical impulses in the body's nervous system to fight disease rather than drugs.
- The fund's first investment will be in California-based SetPoint Medical, which is developing devices to treat inflammatory diseases.
- The long term hope is to be able to treat a variety of illnesses, including high blood-pressure, breathing problems and eventually brain disorders. (Previous)
