Sequenom cuts losses, Wedbush note cited

  • Shares of Sequenom (SQNM +0.3%) pare losses to trade briefly in positive territory on chatter about a Wedbush note which purportedly says competitors Natera and Ariosa have received letters from the NY Department of Health regarding test processing.

    Probably like the 23andme test where NY doesn't allow mailing "biohazard" material through the US mail. Not even saliva samples. That's a no-no in NY State.

    That's interesting that NY classifies saliva samples as a "biohazard" and doesn't allow mailing it in sealed containers, while still allowing people to seal envelopes by licking them and "contaminating" the actual packaging itself with the very substance that they consider a "biohazard".
