- Kara Swisher reports Marissa Mayer (YHOO) is "personally shepherding" an effort to secure a deal with well-known talk show host Katie Couric for an interview show that would appear on Yahoo's home page.
- Mayer is also said to have held "very preliminary" talks with Conde Nast about a content deal involving Vogue, the magazine that recently published a fairly well-publicized interview and photo spread involving her. On Tuesday, Conde Nast announced a major deal with Amazon.
- Yahoo has been looking to grow its video ad inventory via content purchases. The Web giant was set to acquire French video site Dailymotion before the French government intervened, and was reportedly among the companies bidding for Hulu before its owners decided not to sell. Yahoo did manage to strike an exclusive deal for Saturday Night Live's 38-year archive in April.
- On the Q2 CC, Mayer observed Yahoo's "video [ad] inventory sells out months in advance, which is not a good thing."
