Gold futures broke through $1,400 earlier, climbing to as high as $1,405.70 an ounce - the highest since June 7 - after weak U.S. housing data last week weakened expectations about the Fed's prospective tapering.

However, Gold has since pulled back and is now -0.1% to $1,394.
