Sprint cutting 800 customer service jobs

The announcement comes shortly after Sprint (S -1.1%) shuttered Nextel's ancient iDEN mobile network, and lost some holdout subscribers on account of the move.

The #3 U.S. carrier says declining customer complaints and higher satisfaction levels enable it to trim headcount.

The cuts cover ~2% of Sprint's 40K-strong workforce. Nonetheless, headcount is expected to remain steady thanks to hiring in other areas.

I'm getting ready to load up on Sprint. Since I think the market is going to stink all of this week due to Syria and other concerns I'll see if the stock eases down a bit before I start a position.

    -Cheers.
