Atmel (ATML), whose exposure to the high-end Android tablet market has been seen as a liability, warns it expects Q4 revenue of $384M, down 20% Q/Q and well below a $412.1M consensus. Atmel says Q4 sales were hurt by the pushout of an $11M payment from an Asian distributor, though that can't fully account for revenue falling $28M below Street forecasts. Shares are halted.
