- Align Technology (ALGN -1.5%) slips today, despite announcing late yesterday that a German court had ordered the enforcement of permanent injunctions against Ortho Caps GmbH and Rasteder KFO Spezial-Labor GmbH, ruling that the two companies had infringed on ALGN's patents related to its clear aligner therapy systems.
- The lawsuits were filed separately by ALGN in December 2011.
- The injunctions will require Ortho Caps and Rasteder KFO to account for all sales for their infringing products and pay any damages to ALGN resulting from their infringement.
- The firms also were barred from making, offering to sell and selling in Germany any of the products the court found to infringe the patents.
