Uber hires Google, Facebook execs; Twitter reportedly hires Google exec

  • Uber announces it has hired Google (GOOG) accountant/chief treasurer Brent Callinicos to be its CFO, and Facebook (FB) international growth chief Ed Baker to be its head of growth. Meanwhile, AllThingsD reports Christian Oestlien, Google's display ad product development chief, is leaving to become Twitter's senior director of growth and international.
  • Bloomberg just reported Twitter is holding preliminary talks with banks about an IPO. Likewise, Uber is widely believed to be eying an IPO after raising funding from Google and others at a $3.5B valuation.
  • Facebook has seen its share of post-IPO defections. It's possible the company's summer rally, which has no doubt boosted the value of many stock option packages, could slow down the pace.
