Picture of Lumia 1520 phablet leaks

  • The image, provided by evleaks, shows a design and polycarbonate body very similar to that of the Lumia 928.
  • If an Aug. 19 report from The Verge is right, the 1520, set to become the first 5"+ Windows Phone device, will have a 6" 1080p display, a 20MP or greater camera, and a quad-core Qualcomm CPU.
  • Nokia (NOK) will reportedly launch the phablet at the end of September. But like the rest of the Lumia line, it'll eventually become become Microsoft's (MSFT) responsibility (provided shareholders and regulators approve).
  • Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 earlier this week.

I actually might go look at this, phablets have never really been my thing but just the other day I felt like it would be really nice to get one instead of a full tablet...

Still waiting to see information on the Surface Pro V2 though as well...

I want a W8 tablet running AMD Z60 with 7000 series radeon and 8GB of RAM with at least 128GB solid state. 1080p screen at least 440ppi, and has to last 20 hours while gaming on max settings.

    Oh, I'm awake.

Meh...in 2 years you will probably have it. Though it will be all Intel silicon inside not AMD.

I dont think MSFT will pay on-going licensing fees. they are paying a one-time fee for unlimited use of the patents. that was my understanding.

One thing people missed, Microsoft has leased the Nokia name brand so Nokia will remain the brand of phone for years.

Isn't the name lease only for feature phones? Big difference, smartphones are not included. They can use Nokia for feature phones, but any smartphone will not have the brand.

SA is about a couple weeks late on this news. Take a look at Toshiba's newly announced Encore with Intel's Bay Trail Silvermont 22nm 3d chip W8 and free Office 2013 license that's going on sale for $330 soon.

This stuff is going to put Apple and Samsung on notice.

W8 OEMs will start flooding the market with cheap tablets soon, this is why MSFT is such a buy, if you build it cheap, they will come.
