Futures point to small opening gains; Apple gives extra boost to Nasdaq

S&P 500 (SPY) futures +0.25%, Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) +0.45%, and DJIA (DIA) +0.2% as equities look for a 2nd straight week of gains following a month of losses.

Europe is mixed, but Asia gained big overnight, led by Shanghai +3.4% and Tokyo +2.5%. Good export data in China and the 2020 Olympic hosting win for Japan were the excuses for buying.

Nasdaq futures are being boosted by a 1.2% premarket gain for Apple ahead of its new product announcements tomorrow and Friday evenings news that a deal with China Mobile looks increasingly likely.

The 10-year Treasury yield perhaps prepares for another assault on 3%, up 3 bps to 2.93%.
