Leap Wireless (LEAP +6.4%) and MetroPCS (PCS +3%) have enjoyed much of the cheap smartphone pre-paid market, but BTIG believes that could change with the plan America Movil (AMX +3.8%) is expected to offer in the U.S., a SIM card that can be used in any AT&T (T) or T-Mobile phone, including the "the healthy inventory of used iPhones." Yes, there is nothing wrong with the older iPhones (3G is just fine for telephones, 4G is great for tablets) and AT&T can make a bundle re-connecting this large inventory to its system without paying tribute to AAPL. Also replacing the SIM card is the only surefire way to recover the security for your phone operations in case the phone gets infected.
