Syria accepts plan to give up chemical weapons

  • Syria has accepted a Russian proposal to put chemical weapons under international control, Interfax reports, citing Russian's foreign minister.
  • President Obama said yesterday that were Syria to accept the Russian plan, the U.S. would hold off on military intervention in the Middle Eastern Country.

    I haven't been a fan of Obama's handling of this, but perhaps erratic threats will actually work to get rid of chemical weapons without requiring a strike. Lets see if this is just a play by Assad/Russia for time.....
