More tension between Japan and China worries Japanese automakers

Japan is flexing its muscles again over a group of islands which sit in the middle of a territorial dispute between it and China.

An escalation of tension between the two nation isn't good news for Japanese automakers (NSANY.OB, TM, HMC, MZDAY.PK, SZKMY.PK) which were stymied from realizing strong growth in China over the last year due to heightened resentment.

Reports from earlier today indicate the number of Chinese patrol ships near the islands have been increased to their highest level since April.

There will be war. With this many ships and planes crossing each others paths on a consistent basis, there is bound to be a miscalculation or mistake that results in shots being fired, at some point. It's a matter of when, not if.

I don't think Japan will go for war against China and particularly after 2011 tsunami, this is highly unlikely. Even China won't like to cause any serious implication against it through this war.
