OCZ soars after cancelling conference presentation

OCZ (OCZ +12.7%) CEO Ralph Schmitt was scheduled to present at Deutsche's dbAccess Technology Conference at 11:50AM ET, but reportedly cancelled due to a last-minute scheduling conflict.

OCZ, currently evaluating "strategic alternatives," has seen plenty of buyout speculation in the past. Two major flash storage acquisition have been announced just in the past week (I, II), but they both involved more enterprise-focused companies.

19.4% of the float was shorted as of Aug. 30.

On July 27, 2012, takeover speculation in OCZ got juicy following the company cancelled attending conferences with Stifel and Credit Suisse.

We know how that ended.......not well, with stock price since falling 79%..

At the close yesterday, I almost bought 1000 shares just for the hell of it...but didn't , just as I didn't buy Nokia the Friday before it ''Popped".

It will be an interesting trading session today (Friday)....I'm flying from Berlin to Dublin and will check in to the Hotel about an hour before the close...what will I do 'This Time?' Guinness please.
