OLED TVs, which promise better image quality and thinner form factors than LCD TVs, are still too expensive for the vast majority of consumers. But in spite of Sony's exit from the market, their commercialization, largely using technology and materials from Universal Display (PANL), continues afoot. LG says it will launch a 55-inch set in 2H12, while Samsung claims it's working on a 50-inch TV panel.

    Every time you associate PANL with OLED TV you ignore the fact that there is a good chance that UDC will lose most of its IP protection in disputes now before the European Patent Office and decided against UDC by the Japanese Patent Office. Any such reference should be accompanied by an explicit healthg warning - not just a reference to other commentaries.
