There has been a lot of conflicting stories this week. A lot of interest in either building their(BB) reputation or knocking them down. The media in Canada has been slamming them . Then all the vacuous hype about i-phone that makes me barf. Not because I-phone isn't good but just ....like if I threw one off a cliff....a line of fans would jump off the cliff to buy it....It is like the hype to a Justin Beiber concert.
In this frenzy comes this announcement. I wouldn't have announced anything in all this turmoil and just keep the front page like BB has here in Canada this week. You can't get advertising like that. Heins...I think you made another misstep.

Latest News! Canadian Govt sees no reason to take any action in regard to BB. Further, it stated that BB can survive on its own effort.

Now where is Marcap, when you need him. Could do with him right now, If he would say something you'd know it wouldn't be as bad as that.

BlackBerry sees Q2 loss of $1.81-1.91, Capital IQ consensus -$0.14; Q2 revs of approx $1.6 bln vs consensus of $3 bln. Loss includes inventory writedown and one time charges. Non-Gaap loss is ~50 cents.

The reason for the decline is because shorts are covering before they get screwed. Haven't you notice massive sell off all this week in the afternoon, then this stock gains some of the losses before close. As far as announcement being bad news maybe not, they may have a buyer. They have hired consultants to review the company for potential buyers all the facts point to that!

Crazy - when the shorts cover, they have to BUY shares. That makes the price go up. Right this moment -20%, that is not buying but shareholders looking at what they own and whether they believe it goes up or down. Many are guessing down or are simply disgusted. Short covering, in this case, would actually keep the price from dropping further.

And "all the facts" don't point to anything you've suggested other than sales were unusually poor and they are trying to go into survival mode by cutting the number of devices down to 4.

Alert: Hyperbole, and Irony experiment #donttakethisseriously

Lenovo may buy device business from BBRY, ditch the OS and load'em with Windows Phone. Speedy entry into smartphones and maintain senergy with Windows tablets, ultrabooks and other devices.

I don't own BBRY, and I don't want to own BBRY (not in Lenovo either). Just thinking with my keyboard. What about HP, they need a mobile shot in the arm, are they desperate enough yet to roll the dice on BBRY?
