SunEdison terminates solar wafer supply agreement

|By:, SA News Editor

The agreement, originally signed in Oct. '06, had called for SunEdison (SUNE) to supply solar wafers to Taiwan's Gintech Energy through 2017. Wafer prices have crashed in the following years (and then some), leading to five contract amendments and now a deal termination. Gintech will forfeit part of the security deposit it paid SunEdison. SunEdison saw its shares rally a year ago after the company (then known as MEMC) terminated a supply agreement with Germany's Conergy.
