Macau's Golden Week traffic in focus

|By:, SA News Editor

The Macau Government Tourist Office reports tourist arrivals from Mainland China rose 4.7% from last year for the first five days of the critical Golden Week.

Casinos in the region are making the most out of the traffic, with revenue estimates ranging as high as 14%-17% for the year-over-year gain for Golden Week.

The government shutdown in the U.S. is expected to have a minor impact for Macau as some Chinese high-spenders stay closer to home with popular federal tourist destinations closed.
