Apple announces dates for wider availability of new iPhones

Apple's (AAPL) new iPhones will be available in Italy, Russia, Spain, and more than 25 additional countries on Friday the 25th, says the company, with availability in another dozen-plus countries, including India and Mexico, on November 1.

In other news, the bullish Brian White (now with Cantor Fitzgerald) sees softer-than-hoped demand for the 5C in China after meeting with a supply chain company. He blames too-high of a price.

'In our view, we believe there is a big market opportunity for the iPhone 5C; however, we also believe Apple could better penetrate this market by offering the iPhone 5C at a more favorable price point."

Shares +0.9% premarket.

According to some analysts, Apple can do NOTHING right. Case in point:
'In our view, we believe there is a big market opportunity for the iPhone 5C; however, we also believe Apple could better penetrate this market by offering the iPhone 5C at a more favorable price point."
So, if they dropped the price on the IPhone 5C, "analysts" would say that Apple is sacrificing quality and going after the mass market. Now that they have kept the premium price, "analysts" are complaining that they could better penetrate the market by offering it at a more favorable price point. Can't win for losing.

The 5c price is fine where it is for the time being; there will be an opportunity to lower it in q1.

From what I hear, the hottest PRC demand is for the pricier model, 5s, just like in the States.

I agree - to some analysts Apple just can't do anything right.
